The impact of coronavirus on the aviation industry has resulted in some unexpected innovations – including the use of passenger cabins to carry cargo. The demand for cargo transportation remains high and with passenger numbers at an all time low, the unused capacity is now being adapted to carry crates and parcels.
Air Macau, supported by Menzies Macau, began its first cabin-loaded cargo service on 11 April. The plane, an A321 which would usually carry around 180 passengers, took medical supplies to Osaka in Japan.
Mark Campbell, Managing Director of Menzies Macau once again showed pride in his team saying; “Our team handled this unprecedented Air Macau service with skill and professionalism and we’re looking forward to future co-operation with Air Macau.”
